The Bronx High School of Science provides our students with a unique, world-class education, but achieving this requires far more money than the NYC Department of Education allocates. The Parents’ Association and your generous donations fill in the gaps.

$5000 provides Naviance access to all seniors. Naviance is a vital online tool that students use to manage every aspect of their college application process.
Founded in 1938, the Bronx High School of Science has earned a worldwide reputation as one of the finest public secondary schools in the country. In 2020, Newsweek's rankings of the top 5,000 STEM high schools in the United States, both public and private, cited Bronx Science as the 4th best STEM school in the nation. Bronx Science attracts intellectually gifted students who are culturally, ethnically, and economically diverse. Approximately 60% of the students are children of immigrants. More than 50% do not speak English at home, representing 60 different languages. Our students hail from all 5 boroughs of New York City. Our students are achievers across nearly all academic and extracurricular competitions. They have distinguished themselves as National Merit Scholars, Regeneron Science Scholars and Finalist, and Scholastic Art & Writing Medalists, to name a few. Collectively, the Speech and Debate Team consistently ranks as one of the top teams in the country. Many of our students are future scientists and mathematicians, but all embrace the study of the liberal arts. They are citizens of the world eager to contribute to their society.

I don’t understand this. In a previous post you complained about the lack of rigor in the schools including top US high schools. I think the fact that your grand D is able to handle the academics, take part in EC’s and still get a night’s sleep is wonderful. Would you prefer that the school be even more rigorous academically so that she has to stay up all night or not take part in other activities?
