Will a $2 Powerball ticket make you a multimillionaire? You'll never know unless you play!

In one week, the jackpot shot up from $500 million to almost $600 million. In less than two months, the grand prize soared from $20 million to the current pot.

Saturday, Sept. 16, numbers were 8-11-19-24-46 and the Powerball was 5. Power Play was 2x, and we'll have to wait until the next drawing to see if there's a new multi-millionaire.

With Saturday's jackpot rollover, the grand prize for Monday's Powerball drawing is now estimated at $638 million, with a cash option of $304.2 million. The new jackpot is now in the Top 10 all-time biggest in Powerball. By the way, there were two tickets that won some big cash in the Saturday drawing. Tickets purchased in Arizona and Washington matched 5 numbers and won a $1 million prize.

In case you're wondering, Wednesday, Sept. 13, numbers were 22-30-37-44-45 and the Powerball was 18. Power Play was 3x. While no one purchased a ticket match for the grand prize, there were a couple of big-money winners. A ticket from South Carolina got a Match 5 plus the Power Play for $2 million, and one from Missouri matched 5 for $1 million.

After the Monday, Sept. 11, Powerball drawing for $522 million rolled over, the pot grew almost $30 million in a few hours. Monday numbers were 9-25-27-53-66 and the Powerball was 5. Power Play was 2x. It wasn't all bad news, though: One ticket in Michigan matched 5 numbers and was worth $1 million.

Someone in Florida is a little richer, too: On Saturday, Sept. 9 (numbers were 11-19-29-63-68 and the Powerball was 25, Power Play was 2x), one ticket matched 5 balls plus the Power Play for a $2 million prize. There were two more $1 million Match 5 tickets also purchased Sept. 9. These lucky winners bought their tickets in New Hampshire and Virginia.

These winning prizes (was it you?) follows the recent lotto frenzy after someone in California won the Powerball jackpot for $1.08 billion and someone in Neptune Beach, Florida, won the largest Mega Millions jackpot in the history of the game at $1.58 billion. In less than two months, this lottery grand prize has increased from $20 million to the current pot.

On July 19, a single ticket in California matched all five numbers plus the Powerball to win $1.08 billion, the largest jackpot since therecord-setting $2.04 billion in November. On Aug. 8, a single ticket purchased at a Publix in Neptune Beach, Florida, matched all five numbers plus the Powerball to win $1.58 billion. Neither billion-dollar lottery jackpot has been claimed.

Like Mega Millions, Powerball tickets start at $2 apiece.
